The Skincare Device That Has Become Part of My Routine — hero image

One skincare product that has truly become a part of my routine is the CurrentBody LED face mask (series 2). I use it the maximum times allowed per week according to the instructions, 5 days per week.

I started using it as part of my journey with rosacea type 2, and together with other interventions that I will share more about in a future post, it has genuinely helped calm my skin and improve overall redness.

What I really appreciate is that it is both simple to use and surprisingly technical in how it works.

The mask uses clinically recognised wavelengths of red and near-infrared light — most commonly 633nm red light and 830nm near-infrared light — which are designed to penetrate below the surface of the skin. The red light helps stimulate collagen production and can support skin repair, while the near-infrared light works deeper to help reduce inflammation and support circulation. This newer Series 2 also includes 1072nm deep near-infrared light for even deeper skin support.

Technically, the treatment is very straightforward: just 10 minutes per session, and the flexible silicone design makes it easy to use consistently. The mask contains 236 LED bulbs, carefully placed for full-face coverage.

For me, the biggest difference has been the calming effect on my rosacea-prone skin. It has become one of those small rituals that feels both effective and relaxing. I tend to use it in the evenings and just putting it on makes me sleepy at this point.

I’m really happy with the results so far, especially as part of a bigger skin healing journey.

More on that soon.
