At 35 weeks, I still find so much joy in movement.

Yoga and weight training have remained such an important part of my pregnancy journey, and I feel incredibly grateful that my body is able to keep up with it. Moving regularly has helped me feel strong, grounded, and connected to myself during this special time.

Things have shifted along the way, of course. The version of my practice at 35 weeks looks different from the version earlier on. Some days the movements are slower, smaller, more mindful. Some days I just stretch and breathe. I’ve learned to listen more than push — to let my body decide what kind of session it wants rather than arriving with a fixed plan.

That has probably been the biggest change. It’s not just that the workouts are gentler. It’s that my whole relationship with training has softened. I’m not chasing anything. I’m showing up, moving, and leaving it there.

The mental side has been bigger than I expected.

Staying in a regular rhythm of movement has helped me feel more like myself during a time when a lot is changing all at once. It gives me structure on days that need it, space to think, and — almost more importantly — something that is just mine. A few times a week, I get on the mat or pick up a weight, and for an hour it is only me and my body.

There’s something quiet about it I didn’t expect. After all the appointments, the advice, the plans, the endless stream of input that comes with pregnancy — training has become one of the few parts of the day that doesn’t feel like it’s about preparing for later. It’s just for right now.

If your body allows it, I truly believe exercise can be such a beautiful support during pregnancy — not only physically, but mentally as well. One small caveat: everyone’s pregnancy is different, and what has worked for me may not be right for someone else. If you’re unsure, or if anything feels off during a session, it’s always worth checking in with your midwife or doctor first.

Right now, I’m simply thankful that I can still move, breathe, and feel strong in my body.
