From Taipei, we continued our journey to Alishan, where we stayed for two nights at Fenchihu Hotel.
It was one of those places that instantly felt calm and cozy.
We loved exploring the small streets around the area, with their local shops, mountain atmosphere, and old railway village charm. The little lanes around Fenqihu are so full of character and made the whole stay feel extra special.
During our time there, we also went on a small hike nearby, surrounded by forest and misty mountain views. The area is known for its peaceful walking trails, and it was such a beautiful contrast to the city after Taipei.
The hotel itself quickly became one of our favorites from the trip.
The room had a simple, minimal style with the bed placed low on the floor in a Japanese-style tatami setting, together with a beautiful wooden cypress bathtub. It had that lovely mix of Japanese simplicity and Taiwanese mountain hospitality that made it feel so unique.
A quiet and beautiful stop in the middle of the mountains.
